New clay wall hanging art portraits

, (clay wall hanging art), 2015

This is the first of a new series of original clay wall hanging art portraits.
For now all girl faces. All from my imagination.
And all handmade of clay from scratch.
So fun and so cool. I like them.

Bubblehead 11
, acrylic on panel, (6" x 8"), 2015

Today is the official launch date of my new show on Buy Some Damn Art.
I'm quite excited about this new body of work since it pushes my portraits into another direction far away from historical, yet  they still retain the same quality of rendering as my historical portraits. Which means that my style is still intact even though the faces are more "modern".

RUBY 39 clay sculpture

, (clay figurine), 2015

This little bunny rabbit is quite the hybrid with her short halter top and striped short shorts. Tiny boobs as well. Not sure where she came from. But here she is in all her cuteness.

RUBY 38 nude clay figurine

RUBY 38, (clay figurine), 2015
This new nude clay figurine has boobies, arms and blue eyeshadow.
I'm beginning to make figurines with more details such as arms. Sounds a little weird, but I've been meaning to make more elaborate clay figurines since a while. I've got plenty of other ideas stored in my head, but I think it'll only be in the new year that I can expand on my clay work.

New swimmer sculptures on ETSY

Swimmer clay figurines,  (from left to right # 50, 51 and 52),  2015

November is turning out to be one badass month and it's not even here yet. Got lots of projects going on at the same time that will all come to fruition in NOVEMBER. I should have an update of my new shows soon.
In the meantime, enjoy looking at my newest swimmer sculptures. They always seem to appeal to the masses.

My to-do-list

I've got 16 art-related items on my to-do-list for this went up from 12.
I might be able to cross out 3 items from it by the end of the weekend.
We'll see how things go.

Here's a photo that best describes my life at the moment:
  1. Boxes of plastic wall plugs and metal hanging d-rings to put away.
  2. Empty plastic cheese container to be used for final waxing of chairs.
  3. Container of green chalk paint opened once to paint one chair. Still have 3 more chairs to paint.
  4. New basil plant that needs a lot of water. Like everyday or it wilts right away. Very high maintenance.
  5. Empty metal coffee can that I won't throw away until I find a store that stocks this coffee. It's the best. From Rome. Don't know why it's so expensive. But it tastes so good.
  6. Small plant on the bottom that needs to be re-potted. Still alive, so it can wait.
  7. The bigger plant next to it has come back to life since it got moved closer to the window. Might actually survive.
  8. The white curtains were hung up when we moved back in May. They were supposed to get trimmed to fit the window, but still haven't gotten around to doing them. Who really cares at this point?

Another cloud photo. The clouds were a perfect pink.

Have you got your sh*t together?

October is speeding by and I can't seem to get my sh*t together.
I've got a list of 12 "things" to do over the next few weeks.
I've managed to get 1 1/2 things done so far.
Should be a promising month.

I woke up extra early yesterday morning because the whole family had check-ups with our new family doctor.
This morning I woke up extra early to hunt for cardboard in my neighbourhood before the recycling truck came by to pick everything up.

On my agenda for the rest of today:
Package up 2 orders and bring to post office.
Check to see if there are more boxes available from a local retail store near the post office.
Do more laundry.
Work on new sculptures.
Gesso panels and get them ready for painting.
Do more laundry.
Work some more on sculptures.
And do lots of other things in between as the day goes on.
