EROS 2015

Eros 2015  exhibition of erotic art

In its sixth consecutive year, Eros 2015 is one of the longest running annual exhibitions of erotic art in Canada today. This year, the show features paintings, watercolours, photography, and mixed media by ten artists from Gatineau, Ottawa, Montreal, and Vankleek Hill.

“New to the exhibition this year was the challenge to artists to submit artwork inspired by literature and various narratives,” says John Olsthoorn, curator of Eros 2015. “In the more than 30 artworks, you will see how the artists responded and experience the influence on their art of the novel, of poetry and song, as well as of film and fairy tales, too.”

This month I'll be participating in a group show at the ARBOR gallery in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. The     EROS show is about erotic art and this year the theme is centred on erotism in literature. I chose to do fairytales. Pretty sure not everyone will approve and think it blasphemy to mess with the so-called "innocence" of some fairytales. But I personally think it's fun to think outside the box.
