Back to school

This spring, I've decide to take 2 art classes. It's a bit of a challenge to add the extra class, but it's a short session ( only 8 weeks) and I really want to get even more immersed and pushed beyond my confort zone with regards to my art. This was week # 1 and so far, it's a go!
I'm taking a portrait drawing class with Mary Hayes and an abstract painting class with David Lafrance. Both classes at the Visual Arts centre.

It's amazing how many ideas bloom within minutes just from being surrounded by creative, like-minded people. Very happy and thankful that I have this opportunity which hopefully will bring my art to the next level.

Miniature portraits

PORTRAIT, 04.09.12, acrylic on canvas board, 4"x 4"  2012

Another series that I've begun recently. I bought a dozen small size canvas boards (4" x 4"), (4" x 5") and (4" x 6") and will be working on portraits, landscapes and figures. So far, so good. I like the results quite a bit. Will post new works gradually over the next weeks.

Mini landscape series

Started another new project this week; mini landscape series. Lots of texture and the size reminds me of a postcard, hence the title. Here are the first three paintings. All are acrylic paint on canvas board, 4" x 6". Easy to slip into your pocket.

I've done lots of other projects, but haven't had the time or a proper functioning camera to organize my work.
Time to start a camera fund and start researching for a professional one to take proper photos of my artwork.
