Chocolate bunny

I made a special chocolate bunny rabbit as per my daughter's request. Everyone is quite amazed at how it turned out. I quite like it a lot.

Drawing # 21

So here's my latest creation. Went in a totally different direction with this one. Black india ink and some acrylic paint on gessoed paper. Simple, serene and powerful.

Painting # 4, 2011

I figured it was time to do some painting. So I got out one of my 5 x 7 ampersand gessoboard...very professional...had to order them from the States because selection of art supplies is very limited here in Montreal. Don't believe me? Ask any professional artist and they would probably agree with me.
So anyway, back to the painting. It is based on a photo of Lorenzo that I took of him a couple of years ago. Definitely didn't turn out the way I wanted. Near the end, I started using black india ink because I just couldn't seem to get what I wanted out of the painting.
Tune in tomorrow, because the drawing that I made right after this painting is pretty cool.

Drawing # 20

This drawing didn't turn out as  I expected. It was done the same evening as drawing # 19. Not my favourite of the bunch.

Drawing # 19

So, I managed to get in some art this past weekend, even though it was already after 10 pm last night when I started the drawing. It was worth losing some sleep time to stay up and make this drawing.

Drawing # 18

I don't have any other drawings after this one. It's a little sad in a way.

Drawing # 17

This drawing was done very quickly last week late at night. Turned out great, if I say so myself.

Drawing # 16

What can I say...I like how this drawing turned out. I like how she looks you straight in the eye.

Drawing # 15

Back to the black India ink mixed with acrylic on gessoed paper. This began as a portrait of Lorenzo, but alas, my artwork has a mind of its own.

Drawing # 14

This particular drawing began as a portrait of Augusto, but inevitably, it never quite turns out as planned.

Drawing # 13

I am enjoying the black India ink very much. It is quite dramatic and to the point.

Drawing # 12

Should I still be calling these drawings the week-end series?
Not really sure. I'm very bad with remembering people's names and putting titles on my artwork. Numbers work best for me.

Drawing # 12 is best described by my daughter, Greta, as the following: " Really scary face that looks like it's coming out of the paper."

Yes, I will admit this drawing is a bit intense, but I like it. The eyes look alive. No idea where she came from. Being alone late at night in your studio can make you do some strange stuff.

Drawing # 10 & 11 week-end series

These were not done officially during that infamous week-end, but they are a continuation of the series.
I've already posted these, but I figured I should show them again to continue the continuity of the drawings ( such bad english, I know).
So, here goes:
Both drawings are mixed media. I used black india ink and acrylic on gessoed paper.

Drawing  # 10 ... My daughter, Greta finds him a little creepy.

Drawing # 11... My son, Lorenzo likes this one a lot.
